Throughout the first three years being in Lindsay High School I have changed as a person. They have taught me many great life lessons which I would have never been able to learn on my own. I have also received a great amount experiences both good and bad, while there are still many to come throughout my last year.
My senior year is going great so far, I have really good teachers, and I have met some really interesting students with great enthusiasm to begin their new year in high school. I am currently finding more ways to become more organized in both school and life to become prepared for life after high school, with only a growth mindset.
I am currently on pace for all of my classes because, this is my last year in high school and I need to keep my grades good in order to graduate. I don’t plan to allow myself to fall behind in my school work because I want to be able to experience the new opportunities available for me throughout this year.
The most exciting part of my Senior Project was interviewing a Veterinarian at the Lindsay Veterinary clinic, the environment was very busy, there was a large amount of patients being treated for different things, the environment was very organized, and things were going smoothly. I am working with animal behavior for my senior project by paying attention to animal behavior; finding ways to train them, take good care of them, as well as finding ways to encourage people into having more animals in their lives by providing the reasons why animals play a big role in helping people. My senior project is interesting to me because I want to work with animals in a career that best suits my abilities, because I grew up working with animals and am looking to work with them for the rest of my life.
Some goals I have set for this year are; to get ahead on every one of my classes to have less to worry about, to become more organized in everything possible becoming more time efficient, and to keep a growth mindset helping me accept the growth and changes I need for the future.
Some goals I have for after high school are to; get a job, to get into college studying to become a vet assistant or reach a career which is agriculturally related, where I can apply the skills learned from school to work.
More goals I have for the future are to maintain a steady life and continue learning throughout the entire time. I also want to have my own land where I can start a rabbit breeding association selling purebred rabbits in the right place where they are bought at a cycled pace so business won’t slow down. I also wish to raise funds to donate to charities that help animal shelters find homes for the animals. I plan on fostering a lot of animals being a part of the help finding them good homes as well.

A lot has changed since my last journal entry. Many of my graduate friends have went their own ways and hardly keep in touch anymore. It takes me a while to get used to the friends I currently go to school with. I've become more distant lately and have been deep in to thought as to terms of how I'm going to prepare for life after high school and how I'm going to get my life together.
One thing about myself is that, I'm struggling to change the way I get my work done. In Lindsay High School I've worked with a performance based system throughout all of my three years in high school, and still am in this one. As one, I work well with it but I procrastinate on just about everything. I know this needs to stop because in college its more different and won't tolerate the slack off in assignments. I will be expected to meet the due dates, turning everything in on time.
I'm experiencing new feelings that I've never had, or even thought about when I was a freshman, sophmore, or a junior. I'm beginning to develop a more productive order to set my priorities into. There are more obstacles that I need to pass outside of school in order to become what I want to be by the end of my senior year.
I'm becoming more stressed out than I was in my past three years due to some classes in my schedule in which I'm not sure are necessary for my career. I'm having trouble in my classes, I'm getting behind in everything because I cant concentrate in class during school time. I constantly think about how I'm going to focus on finishing the core classes I need in order to graduate on time.
At the moment I am behind on every one of my classes and am trying to catch up as well as finish some classes early, so I won't have to worry so much about them next semester. My goal of keeping up with my grade throughout the whole year, has failed so now I am focusing on getting my grades up before this semester ends. That way, I can start developing a positive way of doing the things I need in order to succeed.
I'm not having very many difficulties with my senior project. One reason being I haven't kept up with updating nor personalizing it uploading pictures as I go. I just need to get started on finding a topic that I am very passionate about and want to specialize more into. My feelings for my senior project are mutual at the moment. I'm enjoying it because it allows me to express myself and share my goals and aspirations to the world. It also records the progress I make as both a learner and an individual during the journey of my senior year.
What I am enjoying the most about senior year is growing up. I see things in a different way than I did before. I have more priorities, and have a better idea on how to use my time wisely. I feel grateful for all the support I have leading towards my success in life after high school. I'm participating in more experiences than I have before due to more freedom given to me.
I am currently filling out applications for scholarships for college so far, and am planning to apply to The College of the Sequoias real soon post to graduation. I'm feeling a lot of support form many different people in terms of my prep for post graduation. As of today I'm starting to use the resources given to me in order to succeed.

As I reflect on my winter break, I realize I've had one of the most memorable ones of them all. I spent the majority of my time relaxing as I reviewed my basic knowledge of everything that was learned in the first semester. I have also focused on the important topics , answering questions like; "What am I going to do to become a more organized person?" "How can I begin to do the things I need to do to get more around similar to ways others do in my age group?" "What I need to change about myself to succeed in the things I need to get done before I graduate?" and "How am I going to become more open to the world rather than shutting myself out?" Spending quality time with my family was certainly the blessing of having time off from school.
Looking back into the first semester, there are plenty of moments that I love the most. The first thing I really enjoyed about first semester was seeing myself grow more personally. I am definitely quicker, more tolerant, and use my time more efficiently than I used to. My priorities are more laid out than before. Another moment I love about first semester are all of the new memories being made with my friends and teachers inside and outside of the classroom, during school.
The reality of my last semester has definitely hit me. It's only a matter of time before I will be just days away from graduation. The time in school is going a lot faster than it has these last three years, which makes me realize I need to become more organized and get the things I need done before this semester ends. The time will only go faster from this point and graduation day is getting closer and closer. Soon, I will be done with highschool, and preparing myself more for the next chapters in my life.
I still need to catch up on the classes I have, in order to get ahead on everything. The subject I need to work on the most is Geometry. I am determined to do so until I am on pace for it once again. I also need to work on my other core classes like; Ag Economics, Guitar, French 2, and English 12A.
I have worked on applying for some scholarships but, the ones I have applied for didn't provide thorough applications or sites. Yet, I will continue to apply for more during the weekends and after school as much as I am able to before the deadline.
On the other hand, I have already applied for College of the Sequoias. I am keeping up with the workshops to fill the requirements to show up in the COS roster for the upcoming semester. I Applied to that school because it is one of interest to me, and is the absolute priority for myself. I'm excited that in a matter of time I will be attending college already.
In terms of applying for jobs post-graduation, I haven't really applied for any jobs yet. I have been self employed throughout all four years during my time attending LHS. Right now I am just planning through on how I am going to expand my products and boost more sales before I go to college. Once I'm attending COS, I will apply for a job on the campus.

I'm really nervous about graduation, because there are so much more new rules going around in this school that I'm concerned might prevent me from graduating. There are many assignments I need to get done as soon as possible in order to just be on pace for first semester. I'm mentally and emotionally prepared for the procedures of graduation, I'm excited to graduate and move on into a new chapter in my life. I have become a more organized person, and have definitely changed my styles and interests into a more mature manor. I'm working hard into catching up on the things I need to finish in order to be on pace grade wise for graduation, it is forming into the most tedious process I need to go through. There are definitely a few obstacles slowing this process like; FFA competitions after school as well as Porterville Fair.
In terms of post-graduation, I have done very little so far. I am prioritizing through everything I absolutely need in order to graduate. I have filled in my FASFA application, and I am pending through applications for scholarships that way finance in college is not a problem. I am preparing myself as a person for bigger responsibilities and decisions as a whole I am investing in a new livestock species to practice for my future career into self employment.
I still need to catch up on my assignments from first semester to start going ahead on most of my classes for this semester. I need to develop a more efficient method into my study habits, completely breaking off my weakness of procrastination. I know in life, that deadlines are not something I can put off until the very last minute, I understand as a person I need to shape up in my responsibility in order to be successful.
I'm looking forward to graduation day, to show my dad that I've taken all of his advice and he definitely helped me through the process of my growth as an individual. I can't wait to see the day that I am done with this chapter of my life, and to start my new one because my priorities are set and I'm prepared to see the changes in friends i have later on. The cycle of my friendship so far is changing so fast, I'm becoming a more social person along with more positive on the outcome in things that happen in life.
* When it comes to the things I am thankful for the list never really ends, in my eyes I know my life was definitely a different one than others but I'm glad that I've faced the challenges I have in the past. I certainly am a wiser person than I was in freshman year. The life lessons I have learned in high school will definitely be brought with me into the next steps of my life even in the ones after that, as the years will go by. I'm even thankful to be as old as I am now and to have made it this far in life; to have done the things I have done, learned the skills I was taught, and to be alive. I'm thankful for my strong sense of mind and positivity. In the majority of the times when I've failed, I knew I can overcome everything that has happened to me.
* The skills taught to me by Mrs.Pam Brem, are certainly some that I enjoyed learning. Every moment in her classroom felt like a reward because I've formed into a positive role model with very expressive leadership skills towards many people in my community. I am thankful for the time she has spent with me, along with all of her students. She has taught me an important lesson that I have never abided by until, I stepped foot in her classroom a few months after my freshman year in high school. That lesson is, to do the things I love with pride and practice. To always accept the challenges I may face, no matter where I am at I will always need to be someone who is responsible and take commitment into self growth. It is also important to share my experience with those with a similar drive to always improve, because everyone has a purpose in this world in which they need to find at one point or another.
* I'm thankful for the teachers I have had that were there to help me succeed, and didn't just consider their job position just work. It is one thing to be there and teach the students, but time in the classroom is more worth-while if that teacher organizes their thoughts in ways that inspire students every time when they express them.
*Most importantly, I'm thankful for my dad. He was supportive through a majority of the things I've done, and he will remain supportive for me through college because he loves me and cares. Sadly there are parents out there who don't. He is a huge rolemodel towards me, if it weren't for him, I wouldn't have learned the things i've learned on my own. He is strict on me sometimes but it's because in his own ways he was framing me to always choose the right paths and make the right decisions. There certainly is not another dad I'd prefer because he's the best one for me.
